Diego Luis González

Diego is known as one of Mexico´s top climbers, he´s been on the scene since 2003 when he started climbing at his then local gym in the small city of Leon Guanajuato. He quickly gained interest in competitions since he started climbing with his brother and punk friends.

Entering his first national lead championship in 2005 not knowing much about competitions he managed to rank #2 in the juvies, since then he´s been really active in national competitions being several times national champion both in lead & bouldering mode and has represented Mexico in several places around the world.

Diego is also an industrial engineer and is currently studying his master’s degree in Spain where he splits his time between his student and climbing career where his most valued (from him) ascents are:

“La bestia en Saturno” (8b bouder)

“Welcome to Tijuana” (8c route)

Thanks to climbing Diego has also had an appearance in the TV show American Ninja Warrior USAvsTheWorld where he represented Team Latin America falling in the second to last obstacle in stage 3.
